The base is made of two contrasting sculptural elements. The first recalls a steel beam bent at right angles, whose rough finish enhances its industrial style: a clear coat on raw metal, so stains and colour variations are a natural feature. The second is a natural travertine sphere whose porosity contrasts with the hardness of glass and steel.
